Last updated June 11, 2026
Elliston Village Residential (“Elliston Village,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us, request a tour, or inquire about a home, we collect the details you provide—typically your name, email address, phone number, and any message you send.
Rental applications
If you apply to rent a home, we (and our leasing and screening partners) collect the additional information needed to assess your application. This may include your address history, employment and income details, references, and information required to verify your identity and complete tenant screening.
Credit and background checks
As part of the application process, and only with your consent, a credit and/or background check may be performed through a third-party screening service (for example, Secure Cafe or a comparable provider). We collect and use the results solely to evaluate your rental application.
Information collected automatically
We use a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand overall site traffic. It records only aggregate, non-identifying information such as which pages are viewed, the approximate region a visit comes from, and general device and browser type. It does not use tracking cookies, does not build advertising profiles, and is not used to identify individual visitors.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries and schedule tours or showings.
- To process and assess rental applications, including verifying the information you provide and conducting credit and background checks with your consent.
- To communicate with you about a home, your application, or your tenancy.
- To send marketing or promotional communications—only where you have given us your consent.
- To understand and improve how our website is used.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Consent
By submitting a form or contacting us, you consent to our collecting and using the information you provide for the purposes described above. Credit and background checks are performed only with your express consent, obtained as part of the application process. Where we send marketing communications, we do so only with your consent (in keeping with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, or CASL), and you may unsubscribe at any time. You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers who help us operate this website and communicate with you—for example, our website host and analytics provider (Vercel) and our email-delivery provider (Resend).
- Leasing and tenant-screening partners who help us process and assess your rental application, including the credit and background-check provider.
- Where required or permitted by law, such as to comply with a legal obligation or to protect our rights.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. Our analytics are cookieless and aggregate. Any cookies that may be used are limited to those necessary for the website or its content-management tools to function. Third-party services used during the application process (such as the screening provider) operate under their own privacy policies.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected—including assessing your application and meeting our legal, accounting, or reporting requirements—after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.
Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or use. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request a correction if it is inaccurate, and to withdraw your consent to its use. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
Third-party links
Our website may link to other websites and services, including our online application portal. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be posted here.
